Arroz
branco (white rice)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic or 1/2 medium onion
1 cup rice
|
2 1/2 cups hot water
Salt to taste |
| In a medium pot, heat the oil and saute garlic and rice
until rice is crisp and coated with oil. Add water and salt, cover
and cook over medium-low heat for 20 to 30 minutes. Rice is done when
all the water has evaporated and rice is soft. |
