How
to Use Our Web Site
We have
three main reasons for creating this web site: to introduce you to our
practices; to define how we practice; and finally to impart as much
information as we can for as many conditions as possible and to demonstrate
a pathway to follow through the internet when the information we have
is only rudimentary.
The Home
page describes the purpose of the site, lists our physicians as links
so that you can click on any of their names and reach their practice
site, and gives an overview through the navigation bar of the kind of
information we hope to impart.
The About
Us link provides a brief history of the formation of
Healthcare South and a brief description of our mission. It also mentions
our corporate office in Pembroke where most of the billing and other
administrative functions take place.
The
Practices link directs you to all of our pediatric and
family practice sites. Clicking on any of the sites will bring you to
the site-specific home page with a listing of each of the providers,
our pictures, a picture of our building, addresses, phone numbers, hours
of operation and directions. The site page may also have some site-specific
news such as the availability of flu shots or special links that are
valuable for the practice.
The Forms
link provides various forms such as the patient registration form or
record release form that may be downloaded, filled out and mailed or
carried to the office to facilitate your visit.
The Index
link provides an alphabetical listing of the contents of the site with
links to each of the pages.
The Contact
Us link provides a method to send us messages about your
concerns or questions about the site.
The Health
Information link provides access to a number of our programs
and general information regarding diseases and medications. There are
a number of articles written by Dr. Jim Mitterando that have been published
in the Patriot Ledger; most of these pertain to general medicine topics.
The Parent
Resources link is mainly for parents. There are full
discussions of disease that are very common like allergy and asthma
and there are also links with many topics with explanations or discussions
that come directly from the American Academy of Pediatrics. There are
links for newborns through teens.
The Patient
Information link describes the patient's bill of rights,
the health insurances that we contract with, our and your responsibilities
with these insurances, a description of how we run our practices with
regard to well, sick, urgent and emergent phone calls or office visits,
our after hours phone triage, our referral policy and our expectations
of our specialist colleagues, our chaperone policy, and our unaccompanied
minor policy. We have found over the years that it is very important
to define carefully what we are offering and what we view our and your
responsibilities to be. Please read all the links on this page carefully.
Finally,
we have included our disclaimer and terms of use agreement.
